Scarborough Parking Guide
Scarborough has 26 car parks. 19 of these are Pay & Display. There are 2 brand new Park & Rides being built, one on the A64 Seamer Road near the Mere and one on the A165 Filey Road at Cayton Bay. A major programme of improvement work on roads into Scarborough and the building of a brand new road from Cayton Bay into town is taking place. All should be completed in Autumn 2008. As well as the Car Parks, there is on-street Pay & Display parking in the town centre and surrounding the town centre many streets fall into a Disc Zone.

If you are visiting Scarborough and intend to stay for a few nights then contact your hotel or guesthouse owner. The Council has contacted holiday accommodation owners to help them make arrangements. Outside the town centre, unrestricted parking for hotel guests is permitted, by means of a scratchcard, within the vicinity of your accommodation. Each card allows up to four days unrestricted parking. Different arrangements apply in the Town Centre areas. Whilst looking for accommodation you can use disc clocks to get up to two or three hours of free parking - except in areas covered by on-street pay and display meters.
Operating Details
The hours of operation for the disc parking scheme are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday and 12noon to 5pm on Sundays - except in some small areas where restrictions apply until 7pm each day. The hours of operation for the on-street pay and display areas are 9am to 6pm daily (including Bank Holidays). Enforcement is undertaken by Scarborough Borough Council staff.

These Controls do not affect the rights of disabled drivers. Disabled badge holders are exempt from the on-street parking controls and charges and are unaffected by the time restrictions that apply in disc zones.
