Beautiful Coastline...

Scarborough and the Yorkshire Coastline is blessed with some of the UK's finest scenery. From the dramatic cliffs and headlands, to the award-winning beaches with their soft golden sand attracting visitors day after day, year after year. And Scarborough appreciates it's beauty, so no high rise tower blocks like you find in Brighton and Bournemouth. There are the famous postcard views, like those from Olivers Mount, the Esplanade and the Castle but there is much for you to discover at places like Cayton Bay, Cornelian Bay & Hayburn Wyke where a stream winds it's way through a wooded valley and topples over the cliff in the form of a 20ft waterfall. You can immerse yourself in the summer crowds or have a beach to yourself any time of year. All you need to do is choose to visit and explore!

 Fabulous Attractions...

Scarborough has loads of attractions and even on a rainy day there are plenty of places to visit. From the Sealife Centre, home to seals, penguins, sharks, octopus, seahorses, otters and of course lots of fish to historical attractions like Scarborough Castle and the Rotunda Museum. Why not try horse riding seaside style at Staintondale Shire Horse Farm or take a trip on Scarborough's Miniature Railway, one of the oldest and best in the country. See the world famous naval warfare at Peasholm Park, go 10 pin bowling at Fantasy Forest on the Foreshore or take a trip out on one of Scarborough's Pleasure Steamers or Speedboats.

The Country's Finest Parks & Gardens...

In our opinion, Peasholm Park is the finest in the country. It's very special and has recently undergone a massive improvement programme to restore it to it's former glory and create new woodland walks with improved lighting and signs. Where else can you find a park close to the beach with a lake you can sail on in a pedalo or rowing boat, circumnavigating the island with it's Japanese style Pagoda on top and 30ft waterfall. And a park which hosts one of the oldest shows on earth: The Naval Warfare. There's more though.. Peasholm Glen winds it's way from the park through woodland which boasts some of the rarest species of tree in Britain. The stream cascades over a series of waterfalls into miniature lakes, a lush paradise of watery worlds level by level. As well as Peasholm another must-see are the South Cliff Gardens with the Rose Garden and Italian Gardens nestling in the trees between the Esplanade and the rock pools of the South Bay. Also of note St. Nicolas Gardens and Royal Albert Park.

 Unique Events...

On the doorstep: The North York Moors...

The North York Moors National Park is one of the most beautiful and unique places in Britain and you're in it as soon as you drive out of Scarborough's North or Western Boundaries! From the high heather moorland with huge stone markers, roman roads, deep valleys and picturesque villages where sheep roam freely along the pavements to Dalby: Yorkshire's Great Forest, and the spectacular cliffs where the moors meet the sea. This is also Heartbeat Country and home to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, the longest private railway in the country. Deep gorges hide spectacular waterfalls like Falling Foss and Mallyan Spout and the area is home to a huge selection of wildlife.

Along The Yorkshire Coast...

The Yorkshire Coast is often called the Dinosaur Coast these days thanks to the amazing fossilised footprints that have been discovered. The coastline is dramatic and diverse. From the sandstone headlands and clay cliffs near Scarborough to the Chalk Cliffs and tiny coves of Flamborough Headland. From the mile after mile of sandy beach in Filey Bay to the near 700ft high cliff face of Ravenscar. From holiday meccas like Scarborough and Whitby to the old smuggling haunts of Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay with their tiny streets barely wide enough to walk down, and Hayburn Wyke where a waterfall topples over the cliff into an isolated bay. Could there be a more beautiful, exciting, diverse stretch of coastline to explore anywhere?
