The weather forecast is fantastic and Scarborough is ready to welcome you during Easter 2025! Here's some of what's going on... Saturday 5th April throughout the holidays - Easter Adventure Quest @ Scarborough Castle Join us for an adventure quest at Scarborough Castle this Easter holiday. Crack the clues hidden around the grounds and enjoy a delicious chocolate reward! You can take on the quest every day of the school holidays, and it costs just £2 to take part. This is for each child, whether you’re a member or not, and it’s on top of the ticket price. There’s no need to book the quest, you can pay when you arrive at the site. Saturday 5th April - Scarborough's Beachcomber Open Top Buses Return Running from North Bay to South Bay, there’s no better way to soak up the breathtaking Yorkshire coastline and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. From Saturday 5th April to Sunday 13th July, buses will operate every 20 minutes on weekends and during school holidays. Then, from Saturday 19th July to Sunday 31st August, the service will operate daily with buses running every 10 minutes. Whether you’re a tourist exploring Scarborough’s stunning views or a local looking to see the fantastic sights of Scarborough this summer, the Beachcomber is the perfect ride for you! Monday 7th April - The Enchanted Princess Ball @ Scarborough Spa - 1:00pm and 4:30pm Once upon a time, in the land of fairytales, Chester the Castle Jester has muddled up all invitations to The Royal Ball. Join him as he goes on an adventure to meet Cinderella at The Royal Castle, The Little Mermaid Under The Sea, Princess Rapunzel in the Tallest Tower, Belle in her little bookshop in Paris and The Snow Queen in the freezing village of Snowydale to deliver all the invitations by hand to make they all make it to The Enchanted Princess Ball. This Royal Princess Extravaganza is a fast paced, high energy and engaging musical toe tapping adventure that is perfect for the whole family featuring stunning sets, sparkling costumes and lots of songs, dance, laughs and audience participation! Tuesday 8th April - Go Wild In South Cliff Gardens @ Beeforth's Hive - 1:00pm - 3:00pm Join us for nature inspired fun at our popular “Go Wild” drop in workshop. Grab a bug, box, do some crafting, have a go at the just for fun quiz. Free, no booking necessary. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Wednesday 9th April - Spring Daze @ Peasholm Park - 10:00 - 4:00pm On Wednesday 9 April come along to Peasholm Park in Scarborough for Spring Daze – a fun family event to mark the start of Spring. There’ll be a spring-themed woodland trail, storytelling, nature crafts, music and face painting. You can also browse local food, charity and sweet stalls. The event is open from 10am to 4pm and is FREE to attend. Friday 11th April - The Detective Dog @ Stephen Joseph Theatre - 12:30pm and 3:00pm Whether it’s finding a lost shoe or discovering who did a poo on the new gravel path, Nell’s ever-sniffing nose is always hard at work. So when the books at the school have disappeared one morning, Detective Dog Nell is ready to sniff out the culprit! With British Sign Language, creative captions and spoken English, this engaging production celebrates books and the magic of reading in an inclusive and accessible performance. Expect captivating puppetry, surprising smells and toe-tapping music. Suitable for ages 3-103! Friday 11th April - Busy Bees Free Craft Session @ Beeforth's Hive - 1:00pm - 3:00pm Join us at Beeforth’s Hive for free drop in crafts any time from 1pm – 3pm. A great way to keep the younger family members busy during the holidays. Free drop in session, no need to book. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April - Scarborough Food & Drink Festival - Open Air Theatre - 10:00am - 4:00pm This vibrant new festival offers a mouth-watering selection of tempting foods and delicious drinks to please every taste. Expect a wide range of food stalls offering a variety of dishes including gourmet pies, specialist salami, spicy chicken, wood fired pizzas, noodle dishes and even footlong kebabs! For those of you with a sweet tooth there's lots to choose from with crepes, crumbles, candy floss, waffles, sweets, artisan chocolates, cupcakes, pancakes, churros, flapjack, brownies and a selection of bakery and patisserie delicacies on offer. On the drinks side of the festival there will be flavoured rum, coffees, vodka and locally sustainably produced gins and liqueurs. In fact there’ll be spirits of almost every kind on offer plus beer and ciders to sample. International flavours abound with cuisines represented from around the world including Greece, Germany, Mexico, India, Asia, Portugal and the Caribbean. Monday 14th April - Magic Mike's Easter Special @ Scarborough Spa - 2:00pm Join Magic Mike and all his friends for an exciting new magical show this Easter holiday! Get ready to help the cast in this fun-packed performance, featuring fabulous dance routines, enchanting magic, lively songs, and plenty of laughter, as they search for the Easter Bunny’s missing eggs! Prepare for a magical Easter treat filled with lots of audience participation! Don’t miss the chance to meet the Easter Bunny as he hands out the recovered Easter eggs! Two hours of family fun awaits you this Easter holiday, don't miss out! Monday 14th April - Monday 21st April - Easter Eggspress @ North Bay Railway Don’t be late for these very important dates! The Easter Eggspress returns to Scarborough for a fun filled Easter weekend! Come and meet the Easter Bunny who will be hopping around Peasholm Station, making appearances throughout the day – don’t forget to bring your camera! Take part in our Easter Trail on the train and once you have completed the trail, you’ve earned yourself a special Easter prize! Are you sharp-eyed enough to spot all the letters alongside the railway? There’s no need to book in advance, just turn up on the day! Monday 14th - Saturday 19th April - Sister Act The Musical @ The YMCA Theatre Scarborough - 7:00pm nightly with 2:00pm Matinee on 19th April too Join us on the amazing journey of Delores Van Cartier as she goes into hiding in a convent. A joyous and vibrant musical for all the Family. Thursday 17th April 4:00pm - From Dinosaurs To The First Seaside Resort - FAMILY SPECIAL! See a real dinosaur footprint and the still-visible damage from the WW1 Bombardment of Scarborough. Learn some fun facts about Scarborough in a family-oriented presentation style. This tour is just £20 for 2 adults and up to 3 children and lasts 60-90 minutes. BOOK HERE Boat trips will return to Scarborough Harbour too. Enjoy speedboat rides and a trip on boats like the historic Hispaniola. Scarborough's Park & Ride sites reopen on Sunday 6th April on the A64 Seamer Road and the A165 Filey Road.
