Be wowed with incredible views and fascinating facts about the oldest part of Scarborough. We'll wander down our hidden ancient street, discover the history of St. Mary's Church and Scarborough Castle and how the two became embroiled in a battle in the English Civil War. We'll see Anne Bronte's grave and learn about Scarborough's amazing maritime heritage. This walk does include walking up to the castle entrance from the seafront so it is advisable to be of a good level of fitness.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please note that this walk includes some short uphill stretches and a small number of steps. The distance is around 1.85 miles with regular stops. It is advisable to bring a drink and dress appropriately for the weather on the day. The walk will only be cancelled in extremely bad weather such as torrential rain, thunder etc. We will have some water and a small medical kit with us. There are several public toilets along the route but please note there is a 40p charge at council-run toilets. Cards are accepted. We have public liability insurance for walking tours.
